Who is Tilly?

I decided on the name Tilly’s Pet Salon to honor one of the best dogs in the world, Tilly! All pets are special, but sometimes there comes along a dog who touches hearts in a special way. Tilly is one of those dogs. She deserves all the attention she demands. She is smart, loving, gentle, protective, and athletic. She is a rescue dog, and her parentage is unknown, but our best guess is pit/dachshund mix.  Tilly is a mutt of uncertain age (although a senior now) who was apparently abandoned and hit by a car. When I worked at the vet’s office, she was brought in by a good Samaritan. She had surgery and was kenneled for months so she could heal. Tilly became a quiet companion to every staff member who worked in the office where she spent most of her time. She was fostered by a wonderful family before eventually coming to live with us. After a while, she had surgery on her back leg to remove a bone fragment that had slowly made its way to the surface from the original injury. Tilly lives up to her name meaning “battle-mighty.” To see her bouncing around now, you would never guess what she has been through!
